J. David Woodard is Emeritus Professor of Political Science at Clemson University, where he has taught since 1983 and directed the Palmetto Poll. He managed campaigns for U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint and three South Carolina congressmen, and is the author of seven books, including Ronald Reagan: A Biography.
